I just cannot believe it's the first week of November already, and you know what that means - it's time for another Fancy Sandwich Friday!
This month's fancy sandwich was for my grandson, who is 15 months old . I know he's too little to appreciate the squirrel, and the acorns, and the tiny red bell pepper heart... but I can't resist making his food cute anyway!
This lunch contains blackberries, honeydew melon, and purple carrot curls. The fancy sandwich part of this lunch is actually several tiny sandwiches - 3 little acorn-shaped peanut butter sandwiches, and a quesadilla topped with a little squirrel cut from the extra bread. The red heart is made from red bell pepper.
He liked all of it, except the carrot curls! It was funny, because he kept trying to eat them ( because hey - they do look kind of cool rolled up like that) but he spit them out every time! When food looks enticing, kids will at least give it a try, and that's good enough for me.
Here are some of the things I used to make this lunch, and where to find them:
Okay, now it's your turn - show us what you've got! Please link up some of your posts that have sandwiches, or a sandwich recipe, or other sandwich-related info.
You can read all about how to do this here on my Fancy Sandwich Friday page.
Thanks for stopping by - hope to see you here again soon!
