I made this one for my son ( the one who doesn't mind having cute food as long as it tastes good!) It's a simple beef sandwich with mayo and pickles topped with Christmas figures made from cheese. The stripes on the candy cane are made of apple strips, and the face on the gingerbread man is made from nori.
It occurred to me that I could make the sandwich fit precisely in the bento box by using the box itself as a template!
Here's the bread before cutting - just a little too wide:
Next I laid the bento box over the bread and trimmed around the edge with a knife:
Now the sandwich fits exactly!
Probably a lot of you have figured out this little trick for yourself, but it was new to me so I thought I'd share 🙂
