On the 12th day of Christmas, my true love gave to me
12 drummers drumming,
11 pipers piping,
10 lords a -leaping,
9 ladies dancing,
8 maids a-milking,
7 swans a-swimming,
6 geese a-laying,
5 gold rings,
4 calling birds,
3 french hens,
2 turtle doves,
and a paaaaartriiiiidge in a pear treeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!
It's Christmas Eve - our family's favorite day of the year! We like this day even more than Christmas!
Food is all prepared ahead of time, and we spend part of the day with cousins, aunts, and uncles; then in the evening we all get some new handmade Christmas pajamas. I have always made them myself every year, but this year my daughter and daughter-in-law helped me with that very big project : ) It's so wonderful to have such beautiful, creative, and talented girls to sew with this year - thanks ladies, I love you!!!
Then we all don our new pj's and feast on our Make-your-own sandwich and finger food bar ( yum! can't wait for a cappicola and swiss sandwich!) and drink egg nog mixed with 7-up.
Then we drive around and look at everyone's Christmas lights while we listen to Christmas music. We do such simple things on Christmas Eve, but we all just love to be together - that's the best part 😀
For this lunch, I've made another P B &J sandwich. My drummer was cut from cheese, and topped with bell peppers, sugar snap peas, and nori. His drum sticks are 2 jewel picks, which you can buy here:
I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my blog! I hope you continue to read in the coming new year (I'll be taking a little blog vacation until January)
Have a very merry Christmas, and a happy new year!!!
love,
Kristie
