Today should be a fun day - we are going to the airport to pick up our son and DIL who are returning from visiting family in California. They were nice enough to buy me some bento stuff from my favorite store, Ichiban Kan in San Francisco! Now the tables have turned - I'm going to be the one saying "what did you bring me" to my kids instead of the other way around, ha ha . On the way there, we are stopping at a store called Asian City, which has a few bento goodies as well. So look out - my lunches will have some new toys added to them in the next few days : )
food plans for the day:
breakfast - gluten-free waffles with lite butter and jam, 1 boiled egg
lunch - that bento box: brown rice and extra lean ground beef, mango, strawberry, broccoli, tomatoes, sugar snap peas, boiled egg, and dipping sauce - lite mayo with rooster sauce ( yummy!) There are also some purple potato hearts on top of the beef. I'm definitely getting my 5 a day today!
afternoon snack - I'll be trying out a new low-cal chocolate muffin recipe that promises great taste for only 58 calories per muffin... I'll let you know if it was true or not ; )
dinner - we are going to spend time getting the garden ready to plant this evening, so while we're out there , we'll be grilling burgers and having potato salad with fresh fruit for dessert.
